Questions about this tool

What is llms.txt?
A plain-Markdown file at your site root that tells AI systems what your site is and which pages are worth reading. robots.txt controls access; llms.txt provides context. It's a community proposal, not a ratified standard.
Do ChatGPT and Perplexity actually read it?
Neither has confirmed that they do. The honest case for adding one is that it costs twenty minutes, several AEO audits check for it, and writing it forces you to state plainly what your business is — which is the real work anyway.
Is the generated file ready to publish?
It's a draft. Everything in it comes from your own site, so nothing is invented — but the one-line descriptions after each link are generic, and rewriting them in your own words is the point of the file.
Where do I put it?
At your domain root — yoursite.com/llms.txt — served as text/plain. If your site is code, generate it from the same values that drive your pages so it can't drift.
